* It doesn’t appear that you can control what units your cities spawn nor see when they’ll appear. * It’s a little confusing why you can reinforce an infantry unit with armor and vice versa. * It would be nice if you could see where movement was allowed when you select a unit. You take turns maneuvering and attacking the opposing side, defending cities, and trying to cut off their supplies. The graphics aren’t too bad and the music and sound effects are fine. All this being said, even with no changes I look foward to more expanded games like this one from HexWar. Giving the players some way to choose where and when to deploy units like this would also be a big plus. You might also add some elite units like German SS and Russian Guards units to add some variety and variability to the game. You could add some leaders to both sides for example, or throw in some some specialized units like Russian artillery divisions that could aid both Russian attackers and defenders or on the German side Tiger battalions which would likewise help the Germans on offense or defense. This may simply be a way to make the game more balanced and I get the need to do that, but there are ways to do that without making German units more powerful than their Russian counterparts in a manner that is ahistorical. My main complaint is that the German Army, especially in the late-war Begration campaign and scenario, is just too powerful as compared to the Red Army. There are some minor problems like the combat factor of units being hidden under the floating names of victory point cities. For the money is a highly playable and enjoyable game. I think this is a very good game that could be better.
